Web platformOverview
The Yotpo Visual UGC (User-Generated Content) helps brands bring top-performing Instagram experiences to their site quickly and efficiently.
Our platform combines beautifully customer photos, videos, and reviews with customizable display options that engage customers and enhance merchants' brands. Customers' photos and videos are showcased on merchants' sites in beautiful galleries, increasing product discovery, boosting brand engagement, and allowing new purchase paths.
Objective
The aim of the project was to increase the number of users who completed the onboarding process, the activation rate, and the conversion rate.
The old onboarding wasn't performing well - the percentage of users who completed the onboarding was about 8%. A very high number of users (35%) skipped the onboarding or closed the tab in the middle of the process (49%).
Pain Points
Social connection step
One of the main pain points of the product is its connection to social media accounts. The onboarding process should assist the user in achieving this goal. We found, however, that only 34% of the users were connected to Instagram successfully. The problem, users have been asked to log in to their Facebook account in the first step. Also, users couldn't understand the prerequisites for connecting to Instagram.
Placing the gallery step
Another pain point was the process of embedding the gallery. Embedding the gallery on site is not an easy task, especially for small customers without in-house developers, and users didn’t know what to do with the code and where to palce it.
