User interviews
I performed user interviews to help myself to understand the user’s behavior. I conducted the interviews with 4 participants over the phone. I interview people that have participated in the past mentoring program as a mentor or a mentee and had at least one mentoring session. The insights I gathered from the interviews are:
It is important to manage the program according to interest groups, not every mentor can help every mentee.
Mentors also need support, they meet once in a while for a group meeting that helps them get better and persevere.
Sometimes it is difficult for people to persevere in a mentoring program, away needs to be found to encourage them to persevere.
In order for a mentoring program to be successful, it is very important to first and foremost set goals for the program.
