Scaling Innovation with Design Systems: The Fiverr Go Dark Mode Initiative


Fiverr is a global online marketplace that is changing the way the world works together by connecting businesses with freelance talent.

Founded in 2010, Fiverr provides a two sided platform where individuals and businesses can buy and sell a wide range of digital services, known as "Gigs", across hundreds of categories, like graphic design, digital marketing, writing, video editing, and programming. 

Fiverr Go is an AI-based tool aimed at helping freelancers significantly streamline and enhance their workflow.

The Challenge: Establishing a high-velocity design foundation for Fiverr's AI-powered platform.


Designed to differentiate itself from the main Fiverr marketplace and Fiverr Pro.

The design goal was to establish a distinct visual identity using a dark theme. This was intended to signal a fresh, professional, and innovative experience that is both recognizable and compatible with other AI tools on the market.

The local development team needed a scalable solution to prevent bottlenecks as the team grew. The Design System was the key.
