Why Now?
Implementing this new token system was a strategic and necessary move to get Fiverr ready for big product changes. Our existing design library was strong, but it used technical language that lacked the flexibility for quick changes like theme switching. The new semantic token layer solves this problem and provides the essential foundation, not just for the immediate need to launch Dark Mode for "Team Fiverr Go," but also to future-proof the entire platform. By setting up this clean, hierarchical base now, the system will be prepared to handle the complexity of rolling out a comprehensive Dark Mode solution across the entire Fiverr platform when that initiative is approved, ensuring a smooth, consistent, and scalable deployment.
